The Santa Fe New Mexican says as the city is preparing to annex land that includes MHCs, Santa Fe City Councilor Carmichael Dominguez wants to ensure that new manufactured housing developments comply with the same standards as other new neighborhoods, which includes sidewalks, drainage, landscaping and parks. Further, acknowledging the change is also one of terminology, he wants to change the wording in the city code from ?mobile home? to ?manufactured housing? to reflect current day realities, citing HUD?s regulation of the production of manufactured housing since 1976. As MHProNews has learned, Dominguez hopes to encourage landowners to redevelop property with better amenities.

What is the difference on 401k and anuite, IRA and others similes ...

I assume you?re concerned about a 401(k) account at an old employer. It sounds like you?re still working, and that you have access to a second 401(k) plan at your current employer.

1. You can often roll the old 401(k) account over into a current employer?s 401(k) plan, but you should check with your current employer?s plan to make sure. Some plans may not allow such rollovers. If not, you can roll over the old 401(k) into a traditional IRA. But think through the question of costs and investment options first.

2. Compare the expenses and investment options available to you in the old 401(k), the new 401(k) and any IRA you might consider opening. Low expenses (below 1% of the value of your assets) are desirable. Investment options that let you invest in a diversified portfolio of stocks and bonds are preferable. Don?t concentrate your investments, especially not in an employer?s stock.

3. After you?ve compared your options, choose the one that gives you the best combination of low costs and good investment options. There may be no perfect choice; just go with the one that, on balance, seems to be better than the others.

4. Whatever you do, don?t take a distribution of the retirement money directly into your own hands. That will give you a big tax liability and the loss of much of your retirement funds (due to taxes and probably a 10% penalty).

SD?team looks for US pro record 41st straight win

So today?s trivia question is, which professional team has the longest winning streak in sports history? Answer below ? and it?s a tie between two teams which could be broken tonight.

We know that the LA Lakers hold basketball?s mark, at 33 straight wins in the 1971-72 season. Baseball? New York Giants, 26 straight in 1916.* The NFL? The New England Patriots won 21 straight over two seasons in 2003 and ?04.

In hockey, the Norfolk Admirals (American Hockey League) saw their 32-game win streak end last month (in the NHL, it?s the Pittsburgh Penguins? 17-game streak in 1993). But even that?s way short of the mark in soccer.

The San Diego Sockers of the Professional Arena Soccer League will be going for the all-time pro sports record for consecutive team victories tonight when they take on the visiting Toros de Mexico at the Valley View Casino Center. The Sockers have won 40 straight games, placing them in a tie with the Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (won from 2005-2008). Associated Press:

?It?s huge for this team and our franchise,? said midfielder Brian Farber, who leads the PASL with 16 points, with seven goals and nine assists, in three games. ?We haven?t lost since I?ve been here and we don?t intend to lose anytime soon. We?re going to come home in front of our fans on Friday and try to break the record. We want to keep this winning streak alive for a long time.?

The Sockers haven?t lost since Dec. 27, 2010, 9-8 in overtime to the California Cougars. The Sockers blew a 4-0 lead in the first quarter that game. The winning streak began two days later with a 7-5 victory against the San Diego Fusion.

Former Sockers great Juli Veee will deliver the ceremonial first kick prior to Friday?s opening kickoff. The 62-year-old Veee was part of seven Sockers championships with the indoor team from 1980 to 1988. Veee was the first soccer player inducted into the San Diego Hall of Champions and was part of the inaugural class of the Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame.

* = This included a tie. MLB did not recognize ties in 1916, but if this still bothers you, then the 1935 Chicago Cubs would hold the record with 21 straight wins.

five Methods To Lower Your Car Insurance Rates Drastically: Auto ...

When consumers seek auto insurance coverage quotes comparisons, it aids if they realize which factors give a hefty enhance to those premiums even across various companies. To get the coverage that you require for your certain scenario at the lowest achievable expense, it pays to know what you can modify and what you can?t regarding automobile insurance.

It is All about Threat

As with any enterprise, insurance organizations are in the enterprise to make cash. Accordingly, they have devised techniques to calculate who presents the greatest threat in order to charge these customers much more although charging much less to those who are least likely to price them money. Their actuarial professionals can supply reliable predictions about who is most likely to have accidents, and thereby price the business income.

1 thing you need to realize is that these predictions have to be based on group data, not on people. This can make some customers really feel exploited given that they feel they are much better than most drivers and deserve a decrease premium. Nevertheless, most individuals vastly overestimate their own driving ability, analysis shows. A classic study discovered that 93% of those surveyed said their driving expertise had been above common! A whopping 88% stated they had been in the best half in terms of safety as nicely.

What Can You Do To Lower Your Rate?

The ten key dimensions in figuring out auto insurance rates involve some elements that are very easily changed, some that could be more tough, and some that are just givens. Right here are the ones that you ought to know about that you can impact most very easily:

1. Your driving record. If you have a record of accidents or violations, you will spend much more since you are obviously a better danger. Contemplate taking driving lessons to enhance your abilities, specifically defensive driving.

two. Your claims background. Choose a policy with a higher deductible and then pay for tiny repairs out of pocket since those who make frequent claims are going to spend much more.

three. Your usage or mileage. The a lot more you drive, the greater your risk. How can you decrease the miles driven, e.g., to work? Can you carpool? Take public transportation? Get permission to work from home? Get inventive where you can!

four. Your payment record. If you have a record of becoming late in paying your insurance premiums, you could be forced to reapply and be provided a higher rate.

5. Your automobile sort. Your rates go up when you insure a model with high theft rates or high repair costs and go down when you pick a single that thieves ignore and that your mechanic can repair cheaply.

Elements that Could Be Tough To Modify

In figuring your rate, there are 5 extra factors that could fluctuate in the course of your driving -years but that are less easy to alter than the above aspects. These contain the following: the quantity of drivers, occupation, residential area, years at that address, and occupation.

Automobiles with a lot more drivers get employed a lot more frequently, so the rate goes up, but if you have 1 automobile for a two-individual family members, this is a hard one to alter. (With that logic, a driver with two cars must get a break, proper?) According to one survey, the lowest rates had been paid by scientists, pilots, actors, and artists. Who paid the most? Lawyers, executives, and company owners had been charged the highest premiums because they tend to encounter a lot more anxiety, travel more, and use cell phones although driving.

Age also figures in, with those at each and every intense paying larger rates. These below 25 and these over 65 are often hardest hit, according to reports. Savvy customers ask about discounts for great students. Maybe the insurance industry will soon invent a similar discount for very accountable seniors as the boomer generation ages. Once again, it is all about danger and profit, and insurance coverage companies require to compete.

At the exact same time, you can take steps as shown to get the lowest prices feasible by driving safely, creating few claims, paying your premium on time, driving much less, and by picking a automobile that is less expensive to repair and of much less interest to thieves. Additionally, getting car insurance coverage quotes online will decrease it further still.

Dinosaurs Skinny? Curved Bones Suggest Prehistoric Beasts Weighed Less Than Previously Thought

By: Charles Choi, LiveScience Contributor
Published: 11/21/2012 09:01 AM EST on LiveScience

The fact that bones have curves has now thrown a curveball into calculations of dinosaur weight, researchers say.

New estimates suggest dinosaurs may have been lighter than once thought, scientists explain.

With the rare exceptions of fossilized scraps of skin, feathers, bristles and other relatively soft tissues, all that remains of most extinct creatures are their skeletons. One way that investigators seek to learn more about these lost animals is to deduce their weight from their bones.

Traditionally, researchers would calculate estimates of dinosaur mass using a leg measurement such as the circumference of leg bones, understanding the relationship between body mass and this circumference in modern animals, "and scaling this up to the size of a dinosaur," said researcher Charlotte Brassey, a biomechanist at the University of Manchester in England.

For the sake of simplicity, these calculations often model leg bones as columnar beams. However, "as soon as we introduce irregularities into their shape ? the lumps, bumps and curves that are typical of animal bones ? then they no longer behave like columns," Brassey told LiveScience. [Gallery: Stunning Illustrations of Dinosaurs]

Dinosaur crash tests

To overcome any errors that simplifying these curved organic structures might introduce, the scientists developed complex 3-D models of leg bones from eight modern animal species ? the giraffe; the white-tailed eagle; the American flamingo; the European hedgehog; the common murre, a large bird; the rock hyrax, a guinea piglike animal; the Senegal bush baby, a type of monkey; and the European polecat, a weasel-like animal.

When the researchers digitally crash-tested the bones by virtually loading stress on the ends of the bones, they found "the smallest change in the position or direction of loading induced significant amounts of bending," Brassey said.

dinosaurbones
By simplifying leg bones down to basic columns, previous studies could have underestimated the stresses experienced in animal limbs by up to 142 percent.

By simplifying leg bones down to basic columns, previous studies could have underestimated the stresses experienced in animal limbs by up to 142 percent.

"We've always known that reducing bones down to simple beams was a huge simplification," Brassey said, but it was only after she created the models and compressed them "that I realized how infeasible it was."

True dinosaur mass

This raises concerns that past equations regarding fossil species, including dinosaurs, could have overestimated the maximum body weight their legs were capable of supporting.

"Unfortunately, it's not as simple as saying, 'These equations underestimate stress by 20 percent.' Instead, it depends on the underlying shape of the bone," Brassey said. "A whole-body approach to mass prediction in dinosaurs might be preferable."

When the researchers carried out such a whole-body approach to mass prediction with Giraffatitan, the giant dinosaur previously called Brachiosaurus, they came up with a body mass of 25 tons (23 metric tons), "which is quite a bit lower than some previous predictions," Brassey said. Previous mass estimates for Giraffatitan ranged from 31 to 86 tons (28 to 78 metric tons.)

"Other scientists will argue that finite element analysis remains too computationally expensive and time-consuming," Brassey said. "We appreciate this, and have also introduced improvements to the beam equations in our study for those who do not wish to use finite element analysis." (Finite element analysis is a method of breaking down a problem into many small elements that can be solved in relation to one another using complex equations.)

The findings another intriguing question: Why are bones curved in the first place?

"We've found that it massively increases stress levels when loading the bones in compression, which would be disadvantageous, yet most bones still have some degree of curvature, so evolution hasn't acted to get rid of this curvature," Brassey said.

There have been plenty of suggestions as to why the curvature is there ? for instance, to pack muscles around the bones. "But we still haven't really come up with the solution yet," Brassey said.

The scientists detailed their findings online Nov. 21 in the Journal of the Royal Society Interface.

Congressman-elect writing Elizabeth Smart's memoir

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) ? Ten years after her kidnapping, Elizabeth Smart is preparing her story of being held captive by a homeless street preacher, her improbable rescue after nine months, and how she advocated for children after the ordeal.

St. Martin's Press bought the rights to the memoir from the now 25-year-old senior at Brigham Young University. Smart married a fellow Mormon missionary, Matthew Gilmour, in February.

The account is being written by Chris Stewart, a congressman-elect from Utah who has authored books with religious and patriotic themes.

Stewart said Friday that Smart has made a surprising recovery from the brutal experience at the hands of her captor.

"She has taken a professional outlook on this and is able to talk in an impressive way about these things frankly," Stewart told The Associated Press. He said parts of her book would receive "appropriate" but not "salacious" treatment.

"She's not shying away from this story," he said.

Smart has said she waited for the March 2011 sentencing of Brian David Mitchell before collaborating on the telling of her story, which has been in the works for nearly a year.

Mitchell, a onetime itinerant street preacher, was convicted of Smart's kidnapping and sexual assault. He is serving two life sentences at a federal prison in Arizona.

Authorities say he snatched the then-14-year-old Smart from her bedroom at knifepoint on June 5, 2002.

The book won't just be the story of Smart's captivity but also will depict how she organized the Elizabeth Smart Foundation and brought more attention and law enforcement techniques to the cases of missing and abused children, said her publicist Christopher Thomas.

"She started the foundation to get her message across, and book was another way to do it," Thomas said.

It will be the fourth book about the kidnapping that caused a national sensation.

The first was "Held Captive," a quick treatment published months after police captured Smart walking along a busy suburban Salt Lake City street with Mitchell and his wife Wanda Barzee, who is serving a 15-year sentence.

Then came her parents' bestseller, "Bringing Elizabeth Home: A Journey of Faith and Hope."

A more revealing account was "Plain Sight: The Startling Truth Behind the Elizabeth Smart Investigation," by news photographer Tom Smart ? the girl's uncle ? and Lee Benson, a columnist for the Deseret News of Salt Lake City.

Their book chronicled the police and FBI investigation that initially ignored the eyewitness account of Elizabeth Smart's 9-year-old sister, who was able to identify the abductor as a handyman who had worked at the family's home.

The book also delved into Mitchell's disturbing religious beliefs.

"We never talked to Elizabeth about our book," Tom Smart said. "We did not want to tell her story. We want her to tell her story."

Google's Global Market Finder: not all it's cracked up to be ...

November 23rd, 2012

Exporting, Strategies

Launched in late 2010, Google Global Market Finder shows the number of times people around the world search for certain keywords in a month, in up to 56 languages. It also provides the cost per click suggested by Google Adwords and the competition for that keyword by market.

Google claims that the tool can, among others things, help you to find new overseas markets for your products. For example, you can see in which countries the word ?coffee? or one of its 56 translations is searched for the most often, giving you an indication of the market potential for coffee in different markets. Although the idea is appealing and the exercise is fun, the information provided will more often than not be misleading when the search involves words that do not translate easily or that are not used in the same way everywhere. For instance, a search for a technical term or a string of words will often return misleading results due to translation errors by Google, as will searches involving regional or local expressions. ?For example, typing the word ?chandail? (sweater) into Global Market Finder puts France in 19th place among the G20, suggesting, perhaps incorrectly, that France should be 19th on the list of potential markets for a Canadian sweater exporter. The mistake is due to the fact that the French call a sweater a ?pull? and ?pull-over? rather than ?chandail.?

That said, this tool can in fact be very useful for exporters seeking to check the relevance of certain keywords in the target markets. Our sweater exporter who is contemplating doing business in France would do well to test a few words to find out which keywords he should use in that country to maximize his visibility and what it will cost per click in Google Adwords. In doing so, he will find that more than 1.2 million people search for the word ?pull? every month in France, versus 4,400 for the word ?sweater.? Our exporter may have to be even more specific in his choice of words given the many possible meanings of the word ?pull,? depending on the context.

All to say that unlike Google?s claims, this tool has limited usefulness and can actually be a dangerous way to scout for new markets. That said, it can help you fine tune your choice of keywords to maximize your visibility online in a new market or to find out which words to use in different countries as part of a market study or international business intelligence. At a time when the Internet is playing a growing role in doing business abroad, this is important. But it?s just as important not to rely solely on the Global Market Finder and to take the results with a grain of salt. To truly and effectively develop a foreign market, the best way to proceed is to hire a local translator and conduct a real market study.

New drug overcomes resistance in patients with rare sarcoma

Thursday, November 22, 2012

A new targeted drug demonstrated its ability to control metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumor, an uncommon and life-threatening form of sarcoma, after the disease had become resistant to all existing therapies, report investigators at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute who led the worldwide clinical trial.

The treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumor, or GIST, even in its advanced metastatic stage, has been dramatically improved with two oral targeted drugs ? imatinib (Gleevec) and sunitinib (Sutent). To date, these have represented the only two FDA-approved treatments with the proven ability to control GIST. However, in more than 85 percent of patients, GIST becomes resistant to these drugs after seven years and the disease worsens with fatal results.

The new study, whose results are being published in the Lancet, demonstrated that the oral drug regorafenib, which inhibits several cancer-promoting kinase enzymes, was able to control GIST for nearly four months longer than placebo in patients for whom Gleevec and Sutent were no longer effective, a result that was highly significant statistically.

"When added to best supportive care, regorafenib significantly improves disease control, as measured by progression-free survival time in patients with GIST after progression which represents failure of all other therapies," said George Demetri, MD, of Dana-Farber, principal investigator of this clinical trial.

Demonstrating the aggressive nature of this resistant disease, the study found that tumors objectively grew in less than a month, on average, in GIST patients who were initially randomized to receive a placebo. The study's "cross-over" design made it possible to treat those patients whose tumors grew, and 85 percent of the patients initially on placebo were able to receive regorafenib, which then controlled the disease in these patients as well.

Because of the study's cross-over design, Demetri said, it was not expected to prove that the patients initially randomized to receive regorafenib survived longer ? the researchers would have had to withhold the drug from the placebo patients to demonstrate that difference. "But there is no question that people are living longer" with regorafenib treatment, he said, based on the results of this trial.

An application to have regorafenib approved for use in resistant GIST is under an accelerated review by the Food and Drug Administration, Demetri said.

GIST is a rare form of sarcoma that develops in the gastrointestinal tract, mainly in the stomach and small intestine. GIST is estimated to affect more than 5,000 people per year in the United States and about 8,000 in Europe.

Regorafenib is a novel rationally designed drug manufactured by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals that was FDA-approved in September 2012 to treat metastatic colon cancer after failure of standard chemotherapy. It blocks several cancer-promoting enzymes called kinases, which spur runaway growth in GIST and other cancers.

The phase 3 international trial involved 199 treatment-resistant GIST patients at 57 hospitals in 176 countries. Of the 199 patients, 133 received a regorafenib pill daily for three weeks followed by a one-week break, while 66 received a matching placebo. The patients were monitored for at least one year after the trial began.

As for other targeted therapies, the drug did not often shrink tumors but controlled the disease for an average of 4.8 months before it progressed, while patients in the placebo group experienced less than one month (0.9 month) before the disease worsened. There was a high rate of adverse effects including high blood pressure, fatigue, diarrhea, and redness, swelling, numbness and peeling of skin on the hands and feet. These side effects were managed by reducing or interrupting the regorafenib treatment, the report said.

A companion report in The Lancet said that the drug had a "modest" benefit in patients with metastatic colon cancer. A commentary by David Cunningham, MD, of the Royal Marsden Hospital in England, said, "In the relatively rare GIST, the case for routine use of this drug in patients following failure of existing treatments is strong."

Demetri added "We know that regorafenib can inhibit many of the mutated proteins and abnormal signals that cause this cancer, and the next step will be to investigate the molecular mechanisms by which this new treatment can control GIST after resistance appears to other 'targeted therapy' drugs for this aggressive malignancy."

The clinical trial was supported, in part, by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, as well as the Ludwig Center at Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.

Mexico's president tries to change country's name

(AP) ? Mexico's president is making one last attempt to get the "United States" out of Mexico ? at least as far as the country's name is concerned.

The name "United Mexican States," or "Estados Unidos Mexicanos," was adopted in 1824 after independence from Spain in imitation of Mexico's democratic northern neighbor, but it is rarely used except on official documents, money and other government material.

Still, President Felipe Calderon called a news conference Thursday to announce that he wants to make the name simply "Mexico." His country doesn't need to copy anyone, he said.

Calderon first proposed the name change as a congressman in 2003 but the bill did not make it to a vote. The new constitutional reform he proposed would have to be approved by both houses of Congress and a majority of Mexico's 31 state legislatures.

However, Calderon leaves office on Dec. 1, raising the question of whether his proposal is a largely symbolic gesture. His proposal was widely mocked on Twitter as a ridiculous parting shot from a lame-duck president.

Calderon said that while the name change "doesn't have the urgency of other reforms," it should be seen as a relevant issue. "Mexico doesn't need a name that emulates another country and that no one uses on a daily basis," he said.

The United States looms larger than perhaps any other country in the Mexican cultural imagination: Mexicans follow U.S. sports teams, watch U.S. television shows and buy U.S.-made products. For many, however, there is also resentment of a larger and more powerful northern neighbor that's often seen as ignoring or looking down its nose at Mexico.

Calderon has tried to keep Mexico's international image, and its vital tourism industry, from being tarred by the waves of violence set off by his six-year, militarized offensive against drug cartels. At least 47,500 people have died in cartel-related violence during his term in office, although the number is believed to be far higher, since his administration stopped releasing an official count last year.

A poll released this week by the Vianovo consulting firm said that half of all Americans view Mexico unfavorably and more than 70 percent believe it's unsafe to travel south of the border. The poll of 1,000 adults had a margin of error of four percentage points.

"It's time for Mexicans to return to the beauty and simplicity of the name of our country, Mexico," Calderon said. "A name that we chant, that we sing, that makes us happy, that we identify with, that fills us with pride."

(AP) ? Jarvis Landry helped LSU keep the SEC championship in reach with a 20-13 win over Arkansas on Friday.

Now the receiver and the rest of the No. 8 Tigers must sit back and wait while their next destination ? perhaps next weekend's SEC championship game ? is played out elsewhere.

Landry's spectacular, reaching, one-handed touchdown catch late in the first half helped LSU (10-2, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) hold off the reeling Razorbacks. It marked the sixth time in eight seasons that the Tigers have reached double-digit wins under coach Les Miles.

LSU must now hope for an Alabama loss to Auburn (not likely) and Texas A&M victory against Missouri (very possible) on Saturday in order to win the SEC West and earn a trip to Atlanta. Even without a division crown, the Tigers could still get an at-large bid to the BCS.

"We'll take the next day and a half or so and watch TV tomorrow and be excited about it, and move forward and see how things go," Miles said.

Zach Mettenberger passed for 217 yards and hooked up with Landry for the play of the day with 1:12 left in the first half to put LSU up 10-0. The Tigers were outgained 462-306 in total yardage, but they were able to hold off record-setting performances by Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson and receiver Cobi Hamilton.

Wilson was 31 of 52 passing for the Razorbacks (4-8, 2-6) whose fall from preseason top 10 is now complete. The senior set the school record for career passing yards in the loss, while Hamilton set the school record for receptions in a career with 175.

The records were a bright spot in an otherwise dismal season for a Razorbacks team that struggled mightily following the April firing of former coach Bobby Petrino. Arkansas was 21-5 the last two seasons and entered the season with SEC and national championship expectations, but it was eliminated from the bowl picture following last week's loss at Mississippi State.

"We kind of stuck together (through) all the adversity," Hamilton said. "We're still brothers. We're still the same 2012 team that everybody had high expectations for. But we just stuck together."

The Tigers took at 17-3 lead early in the third quarter after a 1-yard touchdown run by Jeremy Hill, who finished with 77 yards rushing on 18 carries. The touchdown followed an 86-yard kickoff return by Michael Ford to the Arkansas 9.

It also appeared to be the clincher for LSU, though the Razorbacks rallied behind the combination of Wilson and Hamilton.

Wilson passed former Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallet's mark of 7,493 yards passing in the second quarter, finishing with 359 yards in the game and 7,765 yards for his career, and his 28-yard touchdown pass to freshman Mekale McKay in the third quarter closed the LSU lead to 17-10.

After forcing a Tigers' punt, the Razorbacks used a key fourth-and-1 conversion to set up another scoring opportunity. Wilson found Jonathan Williams for a 37-yard completion on the fourth down at midfield, helping to set up a second-and-goal at the LSU 1.

Arkansas was unable, however, to find the end zone on its next two plays. Interim coach John L. Smith then elected to kick a 17-yard field goal, which backup kicker John Henson converted to close the Tigers' lead to 17-13.

The Razorbacks never did find the end zone again, bringing a likely end to the Arkansas career of Smith ? who was signed to a 10-month contract following Petrino's firing.

"That's the right call," Smith said of the field goal attempt. "I mean, you have to score twice to win it, don't you? At least, I think you had to score twice to win it unless my math was wrong. So do you take it there? You have to take the sure points and then come back you have to score again anyway. So that was the thought, and I think that's the right call."

The Razorbacks had one final chance in the closing seconds, but Wilson's second-down attempt from the LSU 18 was over the head of McKay as time expired.

LSU's final score came on a 27-yard field goal by Drew Alleman with 1:26 remaining, giving it a 20-13 lead. The score came after a key 47-yard third-down completion from Mettenberger to Odell Beckham, who finished with eight catches for 112 yards.

The Tigers led 10-0 at halftime in their first game in Fayetteville since 1992. They did so despite gaining the same 165 yards of total offense as the Razorbacks, whose season-long series of miscues continued in the half.

Arkansas, next to last in the SEC in red-zone offense, squandered three scoring opportunities in the half. Dennis Johnson fumbled near the LSU goal line on the game's opening drive, and kicker Zach Hocker misfired on a pair of field goal attempts before being benched in favor of Henson in the second half.

LSU's first touchdown came late in the first half when Mettenberger found Landry in the back of the end zone for a 22-yard touchdown. Landry had to reach back over his wrong shoulder to stretch out and snare the ball with his right hand, landing well in bounds.

"I felt that the throw kind of kept me in bounds," Landry said. "I felt that if he had led me any, there was a possibility I could have been out of bounds.

"It's just one of those throws where Zach trusted me, and I just went up and made it."

Hamilton finished with 10 catches for 98 yards in his final game at Arkansas, finishing his career with 175 catches. His record broke the former mark of 168 catches, set last year by Minnesota Vikings' rookie Jarius Wright.

Why Choose Joomla CMS?

Among the CMS tools available currently in the market, Joomla has a sizeable fan following. There are a substantial number of companies who use Joomla to build their CMS. The reasons for the same as many, still I will list out some of the ?out-of-the box? features of Joomla which make it so special. Joomla template development in India has been going on for some time and there are quite a number of companies working in this. Among them Mindfire would come across as one of the best in Joomla, considering the varied types of work done by the Joomla developers at Mindfire India.

Given below are some of the important features of Joomla which make it so good (source Joomla website):

User Management

Joomla has a registration system that allows users to configure personal options. There are nine user groups with various types of permissions on what users are allowed to access, edit, publish and administrate.

Authentication is an important part of user management and Joomla support multiple protocols, including LDAP, OpenID, and even Gmail. This allows users to use their existing account information to streamline the registration process.

Media Manager

The Media Manager is the tool for easily managing media files or folders and you can configure the MIME type settings to handle any type of file. The Media Manager is integrated into the Article Editor tool so you can grab images and other files at any time.

Language Manager

There is international support for many world languages and UTF-8 encoding.

If you need your Web site in one language and the administrator panel in another, multiple languages are possible.

Contact Management

The Contact Manager helps your users to find the right person and their contact information. It also supports multiple contact forms going to specific individuals as well as groups.

Content Management

Joomla's simplified three-tiered system of articles makes organizing your content a snap. You can organize your content any way you want and not necessarily how it will be on your Web site. Your users can rate articles, e-mail them to a friend, or automatically save a PDF (with UTF-8 support for all languages). Administrators can archive content for safekeeping, hiding it from site visitors.

On public Web sites, built-in e-mail cloaking protects email addresses from spambots.

Creating content is simple with the WYSIWYG editor, giving even novice users the ability to combine text, images in an attractive way. Once you've created your articles, there are a number of pre-installed modules to show the most popular articles, latest new items, newsflashes, related articles, and more.

Syndication and Newsfeed Management

With Joomla, it's easy to syndicate your site content, allowing your users to subscribe to new content in their favorite RSS reader. It's equally easy to integrate RSS feeds from other sources and aggregate them all on your site.

Template Management

Templates in Joomla are a powerful way to make your site look exactly the way you want and either use a single template for the entire site or a separate template for each site section. The level of visual control goes a step further with powerful template overrides, allowing you to customize each part of your pages.

System Features

Speedy page loads are possible with page caching, granular-level module caching, and GZIP page compression.

If your system administrator needs to troubleshoot an issue, debugging mode and error reporting are invaluable.

The FTP Layer allows file operations (like installing Extensions) without having to make all the folders and files writable, making your site administrator's life easier and increasing the security of your site. Administrators quickly and efficiently communicate with users one-on-one through private messaging or all site users via the mass mailing system.

Web Services

With Web services, you can use Remote Procedure Calls (via HTTP and XML). You can also integrate XML-RPC services with the Blogger and Joomla APIs.

Powerful Extensibility

These are just some of the basic Joomla features and the real power is in the way you customize Joomla. Visit the Joomla Extensions Directory to see thousands of ways to enhance Customize Joomla Template to suit your needs.

Analysis: Abe's Reflationary Push Bears Risk of Debt Crisis | ForexLive

By Yasuhiko Seki

TOKYO (MNI) ? While opposition leader Shizo Abe?s push for reflationary
policies produced a short-term euphoria for Japanese financial markets, it also
bears the underlying risk of an unwanted spike in bond yields and a Japanese
version of a sovereign crisis.

The main opposition Liberal Democratic Party, led by Abe, who is seen as a
top candidate to assume the premiership after the Dec. 16 general elections,
announced Wednesday its campaign platform, calling for the need to strike an
accord between the government and the Bank of Japan to help achieve 2% consumer
inflation.

It also urged the BOJ to ease monetary policy in a ?bold? fashion and
cooperate with the Ministry of Finance on the debt management, while raising the
possibility of revising the Bank of Japan Act.

?We will pursue measures to overcome deflation and the strong yen that will
distinguish us from the past LDP policies,? Abe said.

Financial markets have so far been pleased with Abe?s push for even more
drastic monetary easing, as the yen reached Y82.59 on Thursday, the weakest
since April 4, while the Nikkei 225 Stock Average has gained nearly 6% since the
lower house was dissolved on Nov. 16.

But analysts are watchful of downside risks that radical fiscal and
monetary policy measures could cause.

?More isn?t always better,? said Mitsuru Saito, chief economist at Tokai
Tokyo Securities Co, referring to the recent series of Abe?s remarks on the
conduct of monetary policy.

Abe said last week that he would consider making the Bank of Japan buy
construction bonds directly from the government. Later he denied his reported
comment on his Facebook wall, saying he wants the BOJ to buy more JGBs through
its market operations.

He also said the BOJ should consider ?unlimited? monetary easing and
cutting its policy rate to zero or below zero until consumer inflation hits 2%
to 3%.

?It isn?t bad to remove old shackles but you could destroy the health of
the economy if you get it done in the wrong way,? Saito said.

?Unlimited printing of yen would shake the confidence in fiscal discipline
and the BOJ, thereby debasing the value of the yen and causing a spike in bond
yields,? he warned.

Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa also hit out at Abe?s call, saying
in general terms that targeting 3% annual inflation would be ?unrealistic.?

Repeating his warning, he also told reporters this week that financing of
fiscal needs by central banks through underwriting of government debt would
cause an unwanted rise in long-term interest rates, pushing up borrowing costs.

Private-sector analysts are sympathetic with Shirakawa?s comments.

?If all of the policies that Abe has recently advocated were to be
realized, it would eventually trigger a spike in bond yields, which could then
become the root cause for a systemic risk, given the huge amount of JGBs held by
Japanese financial institutions,? said Takuya Kanda, chief analyst at
Gaitame.com Research Institute Co.

?If this happens, there would be no stopping the depreciation of the yen,?
he said.

The BOJ said in its financial system report that major banks, regional
banks and credit unions would incur a total valuation loss of Y8.3 trillion if
domestic bond yields increased by 1 percentage point across the board.

According to the report, major banks could sustain Y3.7 trillion in losses
as of the end of March, equal to 13% of their Tier 1 assets, while regional
banks and credit unions could sustain losses of Y3 trillion and Y1.6 trillion,
respectively.

?A spike in bonds yields would mean nothing for a country with a budget
deficit of just 20% to 30% of GDP, but it would mean a lot for a country like
Japan which has an exremely high debt level? said Junichi Makino, chief
economist at SBMC Nikko Securities Co.

?In the worst case scenario, Japan would no longer be a feasible target of
investments, but it would instead become a good target of so-called Japan
selling,? Makino said, referring to a situation in which Japanese shares, yen
and JGBs are sold simultaneously.

By the end of March 2013, the level of outstanding Japanese government
bonds will total Y709 trillion, 148% of projected gross domestic product, while
its outstanding long-term debt, including JGBs and municipal bonds, is expected
to total Y940 trillion, 196% of projected GDP, according to an estimate by the
Ministry of Finance.

As a result, Japan will be one of the most heavily indebted industrialized
nations, even dwarfing gross public debt held by Greece.

While pointing to the cost of the extreme monetary policies that Abe has
called for, analysts also question the feasibility of these measures.

?Is there a feasible tool to achieve consumer inflation of 2% to 3%, at a
time when the BOJ is already struggling to help achieve consumer inflation of
just 1%?,? asked Izuru Kato, chief economist at Totan Research Institute Co.

?Is bid spending policy, combined with underwriting of construction bonds
by the BOJ, going to revive Sony, Sharp and Panasonic?? he said.

?After all, radical polices would not do any good for Japan but would turn
out to be hazardous,? he added.

Contrary to the foregoing, some analysts voice positive expectations on the
likelihood that the LDP would offer pro-market policies.

?What sort of tools that the government and the BOJ will use are ultimately
irrelevant,? said Masaru Hamasaki, chief strategist at Toyota Asset Management
Co.

?But what is important is that the government and the BOJ make efforts to
inject more money into the financial system, remove the bottle neck of the
liquidity trap, and take measures to help overcome deflation,? he said.

?While whether the LDP can win the election and whether any of the campaign
promises will materialize need to be watched, if these polices were to be
realized, Nikkei might climb toward 15,000 and the yen might fall toward Y90,?
he said.
